Hi all,

I am currently trying to fix an idle issue on a 2006 Micra 1.6 c+c, fault as follows:

High idle when engine is cold 2500rpm

Idle when coolant is above 53C is hunting (revving) between 1000-2500rpm

Throttle pedal is very sensitive.

No fault codes

I have completed the following work:

Smoke tested for air leaks

Throttle body cleaned

Throttle body sent away for repair, new motor fitted and re checked again. Now tested fine.

Throttle pedal replaced with a good used one. Interestingly when I run the engine without the throttle pedal attached it idles steady at 1100rpm.

ECU sent away and tested, reported as fine.

I am running out of ideas on this vehicle, going to test the wiring this afternoon

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Check the wiring between the throttle and the ECU

After testing the wiring, I trusted my gut instinct and sent the throttle body to another company for testing... It turns out the TPS within it was faulty all along, not happy!! A certain parts repair company in Kent is going to receive a strong phone call and email today. mad

Did you have to complete an idle relearn when replacing your throttle body, as I have the same car but am unsure as to whether it needs the relearn if I change the throttle body, or is it just change it over and away you go?
