Couldn't think of a better title, so here goes...

When I have the car (Honda Leg End) at idle, in 'N' or 'P', my air con works fine, blows cold, and doesn't make any noise.

However, when I select 'D', the air con starts making a buzzing noise that increases as the revs rise. It is most notable in first gear, and gradually reduces as it goes all the way up to top gear - I would assume that as the road noise increases from 0mph to (say) 70mph the air con noise is still there, but due to the other noises (wind, tyres, etc) it is getting drowned out. The 'buzzing' noise sounds like a 50cc moped engine is under the bonnet, and is revving in tune with the actual engine.

I have checked the transmission fluid and it's fine, I can only assume that it's either a belt or something in the compressor or condenser that is directly affected by the increase in revs.

Any pointers from anyone? I'll be getting it re-gassed anyway, but am not sure if this will ease the problem?

TIA
