in the aftercooling mode, so engine hot and ign off, the DC controller runs the pump on full power. It adds the fan if required.
If above the set point, it runs the pump for at least 2 minutes or util coolant is 5C below setpoint.

Both the engine water pump and the DC pump are cntrifugal pumps. The pose almost no flow restriction when nur spinning.
So the DC pump works fine with plenty of flow, even if the engine is shut off.

If you have aprogrammble ECU, e..g the above mentioned Emerald, you can adapt such a controll strategy.
The DC controller works fine, too, espeically in the head soak issue situation of the OP.

You will be surprised how well it works. Just run them in a serial fashion .No problems.
The connectros of the pump are of a similar diamter than main coolant lines. So there is no significant restriction to be expected.

I would not rely on the EWP as my sole pump. It is ot necessary to remove the mech pump. You won't gain power as with the mech pump delete, but you will gain reliability.
