Hey all,hows you all doing?
Right,a bit of a brain teaser here....
I bought a Citroen Pic,05 plate with busted belt.....easy fix me thinks.....NOT.
I have replaced the belt,2 broken rockers, now all 16 valves, head gasket and stretch bolts......still it will not run,it fires, but thats about it.
I have checked the belt timing several times, and tonight pinned the flywheel and still nothing.
Right, heres the teaser bit,Autodata shows the pin locations on the pulley end, fairly straightforward, then shows the flywheel pin location......this dosent match up with the pulley end pin,(approx 1 tooth out)...aaaha,me thinks,i'll pin the flywheel and set up from there.still the same result as before...NOTHING,just firing.
I also did a BSI reset,to no avail.
If anyone has any suggestions,it will be most appreciated,I'm running out of the will to live on this one,and can see it meeting Mr Persuader very soon.

You will have to pin the flywheel and the cam pulley both to get the timing right, the HDI engine timing has to be spot on before they will start.

Have you checked the locating key in the cam pulley there known to wear and put timing out about half a tooth, then itll point blank refuse to fire.

Check the cam lobes as these cams are not solid, the lobes are sweated on a tube so to speak, seen so many when belt brake the lobes move ever so slightly, I am 99% sure this will be your issue.

Spot on Carl,a couple of cams sorted the problem.
now runs sweet as a nut........almost.
it runs good, with no misfire, but now smokes like a train,a sort of white/grey smoke, and a lot of it too.
any suggestions on this one??
thanks for the heads up on the cam,one to remember for the future.
all the best,adee.
