Bought a 1.6 zs few weeks back,so far ive changed the plugs all filters and oil change, had the gear selector seal changed (which appears to be leaking again..)Undersealed it and a general clean etc and tracking.

1.Why has the seal gone on the gear selector within a month?

2.The car is so twitchy on throttle,if i come off the accelerator and let it slowly lose rpm say from 5k,it doesnt feel steady like its all over the place.

3.if i put my foot flat to the floor sometimes absoloutely nothing happens like i havnt even pressed the throttle, other times it will go as normal.

4.when i touch the throttle if im coasting in gear without any acceleration,as soon as i touch the throttle it jumps a little,it doesnt apply the power smoothly, its a jolt.I thought id fixed it by attatching this pipe on the airbox that seems to have come out(its a plastic one that comes out the bottom of the airbox and runs up along side the wing),theres no actual leaks in the rubber pipes. The air box has holes drilled into the bottom by one of the owners so dont know if thats anytihng to do with it.

its been lowered by one of the owners too,if that has any effect on the answers,to be honest id rather put the original springs back on because the rides just bumpier than it needs to be.

Ive asked these questions on other forums but havnt really had any answers so thought id try here, cheers.

Is it a fly by wire throttle, or a simple cable?

A previous owner may have chipped it.

Quite a few ecu chips / reflashes will change how the management system reads throttle position i.e. 5% actual may be seen as 30%.

Good point lol
If you dont have it let me know the M code on the side of the stereo and i'll get you the code wink
Mk5's are easyer they display the M code on the display so no need to take them out to get it biggrin
