Hi guys, just wondered if anyone was clued up with EGR valves ?

I have a Mercedes ML320 diesel 2006 model and it has had a intermittent fault with it going in a limp mode type state.

Say about once a week it will have limited revs and feel sluggish.

I did try to have it sorted by using the Terra clean system flush, which has stopped it being as smokey, but still has this fault.

Anyhow ive had it on a diag at my local German specialist and its come up with a EGR fault code (sorry not sure of it)

So my question is after looking online is should i replace it with a new one or ive heard you can blank off the EGR and re map around it so no fault codes appear.

Is there any pros and cons to either one ?

Only thing i read about the EGR is that the pipes maybe blocked as well and may need cleaning as well as the EGR replacement.

Any help/pointers would be great smile

Given Terra Clean can get nowhere that's actually dirty in a diesel...it is kind of pointless.

IMO just replace or repair the EGR, some ecu's will know you've blanked it and be unhappy
If yours isnt one of those, then blank it off.
