I recently had a new turbo and oil pump fitted to my 2007 Audi A4 2.0 Tdi, when i had the car back from the garage it just did not sound right it was deeper than before and I had noticed there was vibrations from the gear lever, steering wheel and pedals.
The car went back in and i was informed that it was possibly the engine mount so they replaced it and surprise it did not makes any difference. The car was in the garage for ages, I now have the car back and its waiting to back in the same garage as the tech has run out of ideas but insist that they have a new tech from Audi/vw starting and they want the car back for when he starts.
Im in that situation that if i take it somewhere else it may cost a small fortune then I have to try and get the money back if proved to them making mistakes.

Please any help and feedback would be appreciated

Go on to this forum ...http://www.volkswagenforum.co.uk/forum.php put a post up in the correct section or just look for "Crasher" and ask him ... vw tech for many years has his own vw garage near Darby I think helped me out loads of times ...

I would normally have said check the oil pump drive as its part of the cradle do u know if they have changed from a chain drive to the updated gear drive ?

Id be inclined to make sure the backlash on the gears is in spec ... if it was not there before and it is now its something they have done or installed incorrectly ..... what code is it CAGA or BIB ?

If it is the last of the 2001-2007 A4 then it almost definitely should be gear drive and the 2007 on A4 are all gear drive.
I remember a doing 2005 car(BLB or BMN,I cant remember)which was shaking/vibrating after having the pump/balance shaft set and gear mod fitted by an apparent specialist.
Found that the balance shafts were just slung on with no consideration for timing.
along with the two sump bolts missing from behind the flywheel, far too much sealant, damage to the sump face and block from some sort of chisel or screwdriver, half the pipes cables etc. re-fitted/routed badly,
And they re-used the old timing belt and billed for him for a new one, monkey bds!

Its been a while, but IIRC there is a flat on the pump side balance shaft that when timed with the crank properly it sits horizontally at the bottom.
A crap job to check though just for getting the sump off.
