I'm aware the age of this so long shot getting a reply from Zakmuh but did you ever get to the bottom of this?
Sounds exactly like a problem I'm with my BMW330i I.e. engine judder- only after 7/8 miles (engine warm). Mpg goes through floor when Juddering. Intermittent even when warm
