Hi, was wondering if anyone can help please. shortly after my warranty ran out i started getting loss of power / going into limp mode, after a while the engine light came on. I checked it on a mates code reader and it showed up as error code P0299 Turbo / Supercharger Underboost.

looking at the engine i saw an oil leak coming off the pipe connecting the engine to the air intake pipe, well it's the pipe leading from the air filter to the turbo. i was advised that there should be a jubilee clip on the pipe and so had one put on which has stopped the leak.... however i still get issues going in to limp mode.

the only time i have issues is on a cold start, even after letting the engine idle for a while to warm up a bit. if i turn the engine off and on it resets and once the engine is up to its average temp i dont have any issues and doesn't go into limp mode. I have a mitsubishi lancer 2.0 di-d sportback which ive been told is basically a 2.0 vw tdi engine. the engine light (not sure if this is normal) will come on and stay on for a few days then the car will run perfect one day and the light will go off the next time i start her up.

Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing it to still go in to limp mode and or had this issue in the past? i spoke to a main dealer and they just advised new turbo.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue with my GS2. I had to get a new turbo as part of it broke and the only way to get it fixed was to get a new one. Now it runs perfectly.
