replacement easy fit pre-split gaiters
Discussion
I have a split gaiter on a steering column knuckle and I was going to use one of those pre-split universal kits available on eBay as it's just to keep crud out (and I'm not convinced there was one on there new, or even if it's an MOT requirement).
Problem is, the only ones I can find are open ended CV gaiters. Anybody see a steering rack one that is closed at both ends?

Amazon has these.

ebay has similar, yes I know they are not split, but the split cv boots don't last the new type universal ones last much better & pretty much most just need the TRE undone to fit which is quicker than gluing the whole length of the gaiter.

What car is this out of interest? UJs on the column usually have sealed bearings, so don't require a gaiter. Are you replacing the gaiter at the bottom that seals the hole where the column passes through the bulkhead?
I ask because IME split gaiters used on CV joints are useless, and invariably return to their natural state after a relatively short period of use. I suppose a gaiter on a column will have an easier life, but it's not usually that difficult to separate the lower joint from the rack.

Surely you would have had time between the 30th & now while waiting for an answer?
Can't imagine it would have taken more than a couple of hours with one of these.

I have used them before, they are very stretchy and will go over the uj if I am thinking right what you are dealing with.
