First time on here and asking for advice. Recently fitted a turbo to my 5ltr Chimaera, did four runs up the drag strip, got a PB at 11.78sec. However when starting up the next day a I had a tapping/knocking from the engine, deffinately not bottom end, not on tick over but just on slight throtle at a stand still. Got home and changed the oil and it was as black as your hat. It was crystal clear before the runs down the drag strip. It does get quiter when warmed up, which leads me to think of piston slap. I did fit a new cam and lifterd before the turbo install and has done maybe 200 miles.
Any thoughts or advice where to go from here?

Was the engine ever built with turbo in mind ? Was it tuned by a competent person after the install ?
Has it run successfully for any period of time before this, or was this literally it's first outing ?
Oil going that black on an engine that quickly would seem strange...but then would it normally have remained clean over such a short time period ?
Is there a lot of pressure in the crankcase ? how do the plugs look ?
And if there was no piston slap before for many miles, there is little reason for it to start now.
Could easily be a broken piston though
Sounds like I'm afraid you will be striping down the engine , can only think that hole in the piston so flame past the piston literally burnt the oil or could be a very hot bearing big end possibly cam bearings in any case not a good day. But I'm sure you had fun !!!!!!!! We'll done richard
