Hi guys,
I'm looking for some advice please if anyone is able to help.

I have a 2012 Ford Kuga which had done 14000 miles when I bought it 2 months ago. Since then I've done 2500 miles mostly driving on main roads doing about 40 miles daily although it's had a couple of journeys in excess of 1 1/2 hours. Most of these journeys though aren't motorway journeys as the nearest motorway is over 100 miles away.

I've started getting management lights and warning with fault code P2452 Diesel Particulate Sensor Pressure Differential Circuit.

I've tried to do a regeneration by running the engine with the car static with the engine running at 3000rpm the engine revved itself up to 3500rpm then up to 4100 (ECU automatic regeneration?) for about 20 minutes that seemed to clear it for a short while (1 day) but light started coming on again I drove the car to work doing 20 miles at 60 mph in 3rd gear with engine revving at 3000rpm. The light stayed off for most of the journey but came on in the last 2 miles.

On starting to drive home the light came on just after start and I reset 3 times but no fault code this time.

I drove home normally using the normal driving gears and the light came on after 10 miles with the fault code again, I reset the fault and light has stayed off so far.

I bought a DPF cleaner (400ml) and put it into 1/2 tank of fuel.

I normally don't drive that car aggressively although I do like to cruise at around the legal limit I just don't accelerate really hard.

Can anybody advise is the fault code telling me:
1) there's a fault with the differential pressure switch?
2) the DPF is blocked?
3) what's the best way to regenerate or clean the filter if it is blocked?

I've been using Tesco standard diesel fuel would using a premium branded diesel (i.e. Shell V power or BP Ultimate) be advisable or is the fuel not that important?

Thanks in advance guys.

Well I finally got to the bottom of it all.

It was poor quality fuel, I drained the tank & filled it with Esso diesel, immediately the engine started running better and then after resetting the fault codes and driving the car the management light came on twice I reset it 1st time after 3 minutes, 2nd time after 25 minutes and that was the last time now driven it 60 miles without a fault engine running better & fuel consumption improved.

It appears with the poor quality fuel the more it tried to regenerate the DPF the more soot it made & worse it got, just became a vicious circle.
Car's much happier now.
