Overboost at 3000RPM 1.9 TDI

Hi all,

My GT TDI 9n is overboosting at around 3k rpm and it goes sluggish, like the turbo has switched off.

However if i change up/down a gear after its over boosted, it will kick back in. So i dont think it goes into limp mode.

But as soon as i go over the 3k rpm limit it just shuts off in any gear and doesnt pull.

Could it be the propellers on the turbo sticking?

Sounds like sticking VNG vanes in the turbo, assuming yours has them.
