2006 Focus ST was broken into and now wont start. The bonnet key lock has been damaged and missing. I presume the car is immobilised in some way. No fault codes

It turns over but wont start. The immobiliser indicator is not flashing, staus on for three seconds then turns off as it should.
Battery is good but as stated it was running fine until it was broken into. Is there a sensor in the bonnet lock that is maybe preventing it from starting at all?

Any suggestions gratefully received

thanks

If the light is coming on with ignition then going off after 3 seconds it's not immobilized. That's standard operation for Ford PATS when it detects the correct key. Besides, it would not crank if it were immobilized.

If the light were flashing rapidly that would indicate immobilization.

I'd be running a fault code scan.

Can the fuel pump be heard running for a few seconds upon ignition on?

Is there spark?

The sensor in the bonnet lock would only affect the anti-theft alarm system, and not the immobilizer.

Pardon my ignorance, but, are the alarm & immobiliser not linked then?

No fault codes. It has been sitting a while not used so maybe the fuel pump if nothing linked to the bonnet lock. will investigate this weekend.
