I'm upgrading our E91s weak halogen headlights with a pair that i've fitted decent LED bulbs into- this isn't a HiD blinding other motorists project. Because all of the many electrical connections (bulbs to harnesses, harnesses to adaptors, adaptors to BMW plugs) can be inserted either way, I am not sure I've got it all correct- is there a way I can test them before whipping off the bonnet and having to fart arse around in the rain messing with wiring? I guess no battery will be up to the job, and even with my level of electrical sense I am feeling that the mains socket is a no go area.

Any advice welcome! Thanks.

A 12v car battery would do it.

If you know the wattage of your LEDs, you can work out the amps needed. You might find that something like a car battery trickle charger might not be strong enough, but there are some ones out there with a decent power output.

Thank you- the idiot with the trickle charger didn't think of that. I'll give it a try tomorrow!
