burning smell

Hi all
Picked up my brand new fiesta st3 last week, for the past few days after a long drive there is a strong burning rubber smell, . Lifted up the hood and it smells like it's coming from the induction hose, it's almost like the engine is overheating and in turn overheating the hose, but wouldn't a warning light come on if that was the case? I'm taking it back for ford to have a look at anyway but I'm just intrigued as to what it is
