My motocross bike wont start wont start I'm not sure what to do next was just wandering if you guys had any ideas! Any help would be appreciated.

Make: Honda
Model: CR 125
Year: 1998

So the bike lost power when I was out and slowly came to a stop, I thought she had blown up! However upon doing a top end rebulid everything was in a usable condition the barrel was not scratched or scored, the head did have previous detenation damage however the sealing surface was fine I decided to use the head and do the top end rebuild. I ordered a cometic gasket kit and a wossener piston model: 8020DC (probably worth mentioning the bike was leaking coolant from the water pump seal as it had perished, so was run low on coolant and I hadn't realised :-/ also this is my first venture into mechanics biglaugh ) After I had done the rebuild I torqued up the cylinder head nuts to spec and tried kicking her over nothing, so I replaced the spark plug and checked for a spark there was a spark but she would not start. I cleaned the carb and checked the reeds, still nothing. After that I drained the tank of the old fuel and replaced it with fresh fuel and used a premix ratio of 32:1. When I've taken the spark plug out its wet and there's a little smoke that pours out from the top of the cylinder head.

If there is compression a spark and fuel it should run , if the plug is wet sounds like it could be flooded you could try pushing the bike in gear with the plug out to blow any excess fuel out , clean the plug and try again bump start would have a better chance of getting it running than kicking it ....

Late to the party I know but my old 250 used be a tt to start if it had sat for a while. Easiest way was to bump start it. Once running it would start all day no problem. Leave it until the next weekend and it won't start again, bump start it and again, it would be fine all day.
