I have an unused oil can so thought I would give the reverse bleed method a go as people deem it easier than the traditional method. Plus largely because I am on my own.

Thing is my hydraulic setup is like this.

The reasoning behind the reverse bleed method is that air bubbles like to rise rather than be forced downwards. However due to the way my master cylinder is (circled in green) would any air bubbles going through the system not get trapped at the top of the master as the line to the reservoir is below it?

Thanks

Large syringe, piece of tubing, bleed whatever direction you like.

If that is an OEM system, then I dont see why bleeding in the normal direction wont work, but yes it can depend on orientation of the master and it's design, ie whether it was designed to be installed in that position or not.

I cant see any reason not to bleed it in the normal way then.

But as said, get a large syringe, piece of clear tubing and then you can push fluid either reverse, or pull it normal direction via the bleed nipple at the slave.

Syringes are dead handy for bleeding stuff. Can sometimes help to put a little grease, sealer or ptfe tape around the nipple threads so air doesnt get drawn in there whilst sucking with the syringe giving you some false bubbles on the clear tubing.

eg this sort of thing, go big.

I got one of these recently, hopefully it will do a similar job.

This is the 3rd time I am bleeding the clutch. The first using two person method, second with the slave off the engine and with the piston blocked. My gear changes dont feel completely smooth despite having a new clutch fitted. I get a slight grind/notchiness in most gears and worse in warmer weather.

It wont even come close. You can only push fluid with that

I seen youtube vids recommending using a oil can for the reverse method. Surely the both the oil can and syringe can push fluid.

Afraid they dont make a cap that fits the 8th gen Honda.

If you get a spare Honda cap just drill a hole in it to take ezy bleed tube.

You dont need a cap with a syringe and tube, use the bleed nipple. Dont overcomplicate something incredibly simple.
