Anyone familiar with BTR gearboxes?
Discussion
Greetings,
A buddy of mine who lives abroad recently got this Korean ute, a 2008 Ssangyong Actyon Sports:
It comes with a 2.0L Diesel and a strange gearbox by Australian company BTR. which In my understanding was last used on an 89' Ford Falcon. Naturally, this creates some challeges with periodic maintenance, which I was hoping you could weigh in on.
The transmission fluid originally required here is made by Ravenol and is available in the UK: http://bit.ly/1TzJljC, but shipping a box of it overseas for every service is quite costly and complicated. The question then is what current mass-market product could be used to substitute it. Any ideas?
One option suggested online is this conversion formula from Lubegard: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171208936813 . Unfortunately we have no idea if it works, and how reliable of a solution it really is.
What would you do in this case? Any thoughts on the matter are welcome.

I assume it would be a BTR transmission.
service manual
Quick google says 'TQ95' fluid - lots of options in Aus - I would use Penrite ATF 95E.

I did some googling for you
This castrol TQ 95 oil mentions Maserati QP and post 1990 Hondas as well as the BTR trans :

This Penrite oil mentions lots of vehicles, and the spec you need seems to be BTR 95E :
https://www.penriteoil.com.au/products.php?id_cate...
It also has a 'find your nearest supplier' dropdown
This post on rextonhub seems worth reading :

Good luck

Thanks for taking the time, this is more or less the same info we were able to gather so far.
As I said, importing from the UK or Australia is a workable option for the time being, but I doubt if it's sustainable for the long term. In Europe it seems all manufacturers bar Ravenol stopped making this oil, and the Australian ones will probably get tired of it as well at some point. Keeping in mind this is just a fancy work truck and not a Maserati, having it depend on a very specific and uncommon formula for maintenance is bound to become a serious limitation.
Oh well, guess that's what he gets for trying to be original and stand out from the crowd.
