Hello All, I wonder if anybody can offer any advice on which engine might be a relatively easy swap on my bedford cf. it has the original 2.279 petrol engine. It is a chassis cab with double wheels on the rear axle, it has a luton shaped horse box and i have converted the box into a camper so it is quite heavy...but this is the reason i would like to keep the vehicle as i have invested a lot of time and energy into the box. At the moment it tops out at about 50mph but it is also a failing engine, the big end bearings sound like they have worn and i understand that might be a sign that there could be other failures lurking. I am looking for something a bit more reliable and maybe slightly more fuel efficient, but also something that can handle the weight of a commercial vehicle (not looking for performace). Diesel would be preferable... i am on quite a tight budget and do not have the skill set to swap it out myself so an engine that might go in out relatively simply to keep the labour costs down. does anybody have any experience with doing something similar or any advice on which engine might be suitable?
many thanks

Bennachie
