Following on from a recent issue the vectra had, suffered with damaged oil cooler gasket, and oil pressure issues. Decided to cut my losses and replace with a lower millage unit. Everything went well and runs lovely but is still not running warm through the vents. It is also blowing coolant out of the tank. Now the system was clogged with mayonnaise after the oil cooler issue. Everything has been thoroughly flushed but seems something is still blocked causing pressure build up. Radiator is hot, both top and bottom hoses are hot but heater matrix pipes are cold. I know it seems i should be looking at heater matrix but it has been flushed through as much as poss. Engine temp is showing 90 degrees, obd scanner is reading 50ish degrees. Can anyone advise where to look next!

Could just be an air-lock in the heater matrix hoses, look for bleed points on the hoses.

If not, with the heater on full & the car jacked or on a hill to lift the front as much as possible run with the expansion/rad cap off & after a few minutes & the engine up to temp it should come warm from the heater.

Still no furthur with this. It seems the rad isnt getting hot like i first thought. Both pipes going to and from the rad are hot but i think that is heat radiation from the engine. Water pump is fine, checked that. Still no heat from the matrix/vents. Dash gauge reads 90 degrees. Have tried bleeding the system many ways but i dont think that is the issue. Ive noticed when the engine has been turned off and has cooled enough to touch, the pipe coming out half way up the rad to the thermostat has no water in at all, plus after a while it begins to suck/glug on this pipe almost as if theres too much vacuum and nothing coming throught the rad. Also when the engine has been running the water in the tank sits about right but gargles and bubbles away but when turned off, after about 5 minutes theres nothing in the tank again. I very much doubt its head gasket as the replacement engine has 66k and from a reputable breakers and plus i has this same cooling issue with the old engine. I have taken pipes and flushed through with hose but is there a possibility theres still lots of maynaise stuck inside from original issue? Any help appreciated

Update -
Still have issue of no heat from vents, water bubbling over only after about 10 - 15 mins so I not thinking head gasket, no cooling fan cutting in, from engine bay the left pipe (drivers side) luke warm and passengers hot.

Whats hot and whats not -
Radiator is hot
Pipes coming to and from rad hot
Pipe from lower tank to bottom rad hose hot
Passenger side matrix pipe hot
Drivers side matrix pipe luke warm

Whats been replaced -
Water pump
Radiator
Heater matrix
Coolant bottle

Please someone help I'm despirate
