Hi all

I have noisy wheel bearing at the rear and am told that on my 05 Daihatsu Charade 1.0SL (with ABS), I need to buy the whole hub which from Daihatsu which is £234+Vat - and I need both sides. This is close to writing the car off.

Can anyone advise whether this is definitely the case, or can the bearings be pressed out and replaced with the existing hubs? If not - anywhere I may get hubs cheaper - or - would salvage parts be an option?

Please help - I love the little beast and don't want to have to scrap it!!
Thanks in advance
Martin

Ask your local motor factor the same question, on some the ABS ring can be heated & removed/refitted to the new hub, whereas some it is machined into the hub itself.

Additionally your local factor may be able to supply pattern parts at a more acceptable cost anyway.

Don't know where you are but someone like Andrew Page might be able to help.

As above, ask in a local motor factors etc.

Euro lists a simple wheel bearing kit....so who knows. Unless you have proper details of exactly what you need and what is on your car, a remote answer will be difficult.
