It's very definitely possible, I've seen a couple of 205s with the TU16 engine fitted. I would imagine you'll need to fabricate a custom exhaust downpipe etc.

Cheers pal, i was thinking that about the downpipe too. Some people seem to think its just a case of sorting the engine mounts but im not too sure yet

it's possible but the TU and XU engines are mounted quite differently so there needs to be a fair amount of fab work.

The XU GTI has a different subframe to the TU engine (lower spec cars).

That's why the 16v TU is a popular upgrade for like a 1,360cc 205 but the Mi16 is popular for the GTi.

Loads of info on 205gtidrivers.com forum.

Some mods to the subframe needed, basically get a TU subframe and nick bits off it and weld to your gti subframe.
A TU5 berlingo gearbox and some subframe reinforcemnt is a good idea while you're at it.
For the exhaust I guess just use a 1.3 Rallye one?

Port spacing between the TU5J4 and the 8v TU's is different unfortunately.
