Hi, I started my Rav4 d4d engine today it ran 2-3 seconds then clunked to a stop. Could not turn it over again. Green Flag brought it home I tried it later and engine turning but not the camshaft.
So my problem is do I get it fixed assuming a new timing chain is only casualty and then hope there are no more big issues like dmf failure etc further down the line?
It's done 103k and my gut feel is it's not worth it.

If the crank is turning and not the camshaft you're going to have bent valves too so it's a top end rebuild or second hand engine you need

Yeah I don't think I will waste that much money on it, it's going to have to be spares/repair I think. Shame because it was a good car.
