Thanks I was thinking mice but it's not a car that sits around it does 750-1000 miles a week. Thought only mice/ rats ate cars stored in barns for months.

Also it's kept out on the street in a housing estate never seen any mice around here on the roads?

Mrs took it back in for to be checked, just been serviced and she could smell fuel they sent us these pics. Never seen anything like it.

Warm and well travelled mice ? lol

Doesn't look like regular wear and tear, although some hoses can just deteriorate, and injector leakoff pipes are known to need replacing. But it really does look like something has been nibbling.

Cheers is that regular fuel pipe they quoted £300 for three pieces of pipe fitted.

Last time I bought fuel pipe it was a tenner for quite a bit.

Hah, that looks eminently diy-able; it's just fuel hose, ffs.
Pick something modern and resistant to ethanol content, and the right clips = easy saturday morning job.

Yeah should be able to get that sorted. I have clips need to measure od diameter of pipe. Two short bits no issue wonder where the other one disappears to.

Regular pipe ? yes and no.

It's just injector leakoff pipe. So yes just regular. But fuel pipe ? depends what sort of fuel pipe.

There are a couple of sizes, but any decent motor factors should have plenty, and suitable clips.

No idea if any of them are awkward to access or not, but £300 does sound a tad insane for way less than £30 in parts

Beware there is some very doubtful hose out there even from respected suppliers.

We have had to do a recall on a number of cars we fitted hose too. The hose started to crack in some cases within 5 months.
We now only use Gates hose.

If it is a few years old, I'd better the hose was not suitable for bio diesel, and the bio has done that.

Given it's disappearing from the outside...cant see how what is inside would be the cause.

If you were really that pedantic about correct hose....get replacements from the dealer. Sometimes prices are surprising...or shocking. Just never know til you ask.

Who knows if there is a known issue, maybe there is a recall or something although that is being hopeful.

It wouldn't attack the woven cover like that, I don't reckon

That quote was from a main dealer she took it there as still in warranty for the fuel smell. they said it wasn't a warranty job which is fair enough no issues with that if its mice.

Not seen it yet, if the longer pipe has fittings on it will ask for price. Smaller bits I'll just replace it with whatever I can find decent.
