Identifying a CV joint
Discussion
Afternoon all,
I'm trying to trace the source of this outer CV joint, its used on a low volume production car but I'm hoping its out the parts bin for a bigger make/model, and therefore available at a more reasonable price than the £100+ I've just had to pay.
It has the following stamped on the side:
GKN DOENA 4S41 EA 3484 A14
Is this translatable into something universal i.e. length/width/spline size etc, or is it a manufacturer specific code?
Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers for the reply When you say "crap", do you mean GKN are crap? I found their website before I posted on PH, but the numbers stamped on the CV joint don't return any results in the search window on their website. I even dropped them an email but haven't had a reply.....

I would give them a ring, you'll stand a better chance, but not much with a company that size. The guy that runs this place knows his stuff: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/J-R-CV-JOINTS-DRIVESHAFTS...
Might be worth a shot.
