Hi,

I am having similar issues here with a c70. I changed the DPF and the pressure sensor, removed some oil so that is 3/4 full (had over 2l of excess oil). “Engine System Service Required” is back (comes and goes after hard acceleration) after 300-400 miles and the car drives smoothly.
Did you fix the problem in the end? Your answer is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Marius
Hi Marius,

Yes, finally got it resolved.

Turned out when the aftermarket DPF was fitted and created massive pressure it damaged the new sensor so when they put a Volvo DPF on, the new sensor was damaged and wouldn't regen. When another new sensor was fitted it allowed a forced regen.

Lesson learnt to always use genuine parts in future! Spoken to garage again since this was resolved and when they do a DPF change now they will only use genuine Volvo DPF to avoid the issues I had.

Not sure if this helps or not, I'd check to make sure genuine parts were used when you had a replacement.

Good luck.

If you are in or around the East Midlands, Dave Pengelly Volvo Specialists is the garage that got mine sorted. Great guy.

My local garage suggested having the existing DPF cleaned (ultrasonically, I think). Cheaper and retains the original part. The company who did the cleaning provided a report on back-pressure/flow before and after, for whatever that's worth. It meant the car was off the road for a few days whilst it was sent away, however.

A new OEM part is probably better, though.
