VAG heads! which carb for my 2L Audi

Hello,

I'm doing an engine transplant - need to carb up a 2L Audi lump out of an Audi 80. It was originally an injection model but ditching all the electronics. I can get a carb inlet manifold as some earlier models came with what I assume is a horrid electronic control clad Pierburg.

Anyone suggest a (cheap) reliable option to suit the 2L engine? It's going in van so no desire for bike carb options and the like!

It may be worthwhile getting rid of the olde carb and fitting a replacement one.
We have had good success with these.

Do not fit a Pierburg carb, they were rubbish when new and not likely to have improved over the years.

The original Bosch injection system would be far superior, and probably less hassle than dialling in a carb.
