Just thought i would post this for people to see.

Stock bottom end rover 75, vvc head with 260 degree piper cams, 630cc injectors, freelander flywheel and clutch, medium sized turbo, 16yr old emerald ecu.

We had an issue with the electronic boost controller in the ecu so werent able to use it which limited how much boost we could put through it(ive ran it to 22psi before) and the clutch started to slip at 295ftbs hence we had to pull timing to keep it under that figure, the plan was to just keep adding boost in at higher rpm to maintain that 295ftlbs to 7000rpm but ecu issues said no.

The plan is to put the helix paddle clutch in it after xmas(i fitted it only to find the plate was bent) then turn it up to around 24psi which should get me to 370-380bhp, but it makes good torque on boost, when we got it to hit 21ps at 5000rpm it made 328ftlbs and it was still rising (clutch managed to hold on that one)

Ive run this engine for 3 yrs now, of which 2 of them have been above 270bhp, done all the mapping myself on the road in the past, its been subjected to lots of 5th gear pulls while tuning and around 120 laps on track.

Im not saying all £200 rover k turbo bottom ends will be like this but as a relatively lightweight and cheap engine it does have potential in small cars.
