Hi, please see picture below. Took the rocker cover off brothers car, zetec-s mk5 fiesta. In the middle between the spark plugs there looks to be some kind of sensor (yellow), putting it back together the plug snapped (it was very brittle). Anyone know what it is, the Haynes manual he has doesn't have this engine as it was from the focus and put in the zetec-s. I will need to solder a new bit on but Im not sure what plug I will need. Ideas?
Have a look through this link. You may not get the right colour but IME that doesn't usually matter.

If you enter 'Junior timer connector' into ebay you'll find loads.
They'll come with the metal parts not pre-wired so you'll need to cut the old one off & crimp the new ones on to your vehicle wiring.

Odd place for a temperature sensor - I would have guessed that it's a knock sensor.
Nope its a temp sensor. It is in an odd place and I have replaced a few. Many, mant times. The 1.6 Focus Zetec engine is a big pile of poo, after having one since new and treating it like royalty for 106k miles, the thing repaid me by breaking down with monotonous regularity thereafter, so much so that I sold it.
The family will never buy Ford again. My business will never buy Ford again. I tell everyone never buy Ford.
My ex-prospective son in law then introduced me to a Fiat Grande Punto.
Another pile of poo. So theres two makes to avoid.
Cheers,
Tony

Nope its a temp sensor. Edited to add I'm just having a laugh with the Ford comment before anyone gets their knickers in a twist.
