I hope the pictures work. Could you kind people please advise on the following set up. Will the standard windage tray be OK? Looking at putting 3 pick ups in the sump. Can't have it any further forward as the hole is my feed into block. As you can see the actual sump area is very small. The channel pics is from the v12 at nearly twice the length. Help and advice greatly appreciated.

The standard block is biased to only allow drainage on the right hand side. Pick ups will be as far over as possible. As far forward as possible. Can't have one right at the front and in any case this will only pic up oil from the timing chain area. Cylinder heads drain down each side of the block internally.

Because I'm sure others are struggling with what you are asking given the pics dont really show much ?

And it's a rather bizarre looking sump from the outside anyway.

Ultimately if the setup allows oil to be pulled from the engine....it will work. How efficient that can be is another matter...but gravity will ensure oil ends up at the lowest point. So scavenge from there.

Thanks Stevie.
My questions are, will the standard windage tray suffice and act as a scraper as well. ?

The sump area is very small for a V8. It's about 60cm long. Very small area. I'm going to use 3 pick ups as that's what my pump has.
I get your point about efficiency. I'll have to suck it and see.

Any windage tray will be better than none. But I dont see why it would be a problem.

Three stages on the pump are normally 2 scavenge and 1 pressure stage (That you feed from the bottom of the drysump tank)

Sorry it's 4 stage, 3 scavenge and 1 pressure.
