Just read a few reviews on Ferrari chat from people who have seen the car,out of respect and by request from Lamborghini nothing particular is being said about technical details until Geneva, which is great nono.

However it appears that its rather special and clearly ready to set the bar and become a game changer in the affordable Supercars sector.

Congrats Lamborghini bowbowbow

Below is a copy and paste from one of the chats:

Quotes:

"They talked a lot about the tech which went into this car, I won't get into it because I don't want to spoil it for anyone, all I can say is WOW, this thing will be a weapon and I can not wait to drive it.

I hope I said a lot without saying too much for more than one reason, one of them being the respect I have for Lamborghini not trying to interfere with the way they want to present their product to their customers, second I don't want to spoil it for anyone, raise or lower expectations, it's better if everyone waits to experience it for themselves preferably live and behind the wheel, also all my comments are in my opinion only!

All I can say is that you wont look at a Ferrari, McLaren or a Porsche in the same manner you looked at them before if at all and they better watch their backs.

I think Lamborghini wanted a track weapon, hence the name Performante, I personally think they've done a fantastic job and they have a real monster on their hands. I can not wait for the next chapter!

Just got back from seeing the car today at 12pm in Los Angeles. they make you sign some massive NDA, and I know they're on the forums (cause we were talking about it today... so i can't say much. a lot of the speculation on the other thread about active aero, etc are all pretty spot on.

That being said, the car is TRULY special. prior to the Performante, I've always felt like Lamborghini's were about lifestyle, flash, and the attention (looks). yes, I know it's a SUPER powerful car, but I've been biased to think that Mclaren takes the cake when it comes to technical performance or being a "driver's" car... but this Performante, specially at it's supposed price point, REALLY takes that away from Mclaren in my opinion. If someone asked me (prior today's presentation) what would be your #1 favorite driver's car under $400k, i would have said 675LT without really any hesitation. but now, for a pretty significant chunk of change BELOW that mark, I REALLY think the new Huracan Performante is the NEW benchmark when it comes to PERFORMANCE/Driver's car! truly truly special. Lambo's R&D team were NOT messing around with this car.

Went to see it today as well.. I had a chance to discuss at length one of the senior engineer that made his presentation. Interesting to note he was part of the Diablo se30 back in the day... The Performante he says development took 2 years and he was really proud of the results and what they achieved. Given concept of the aero was thought up years before, kudos to the engineers as they are making great strides. Without saying further, there is a visual element shared with the se30. Good car and I would seriously consider this once I have chance to test drive it and compare to normal Huracan in the future.

Went to the event.. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more: getting to see the car, or getting lots of 1-on-1 time with C-Suite Lambo execs. Great experience.

This car really is a game changer for Lambo, there is so much more work into this car versus other SV/SL type stuff we've seen previously. It seems like they really have the balance right -- finally giving us the driver's car that we've never really had (as best we can tell), without sacrificing much in the way of drive-ability to do it."

SOUNDS GREAT

Cant wait to see it cool

Yes, Lambo deserves major credit for beefing up its engineering team in the past ~5 years.

The Aventador SV was faster than the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari round the Nurb in 2015 -- at roughly a third of the price.

And now the new Huracan Performante has smashed the Porsche 918 round the Nurb in 2017 -- at roughly a third of the price.

Pound for pound, Lambo road cars are now in a whole different league to Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche.

It is time for journalists and car fans to change and update their view on Lambo.

Lets hope so but no different than all the hype surrounding any new supercar launch. You could use the same words and just change the name of the manufacturer.
I think you previously said Performante was roughly £240k which is not exactly cheap.

In general I think Huracan has been a little disappointing. Too many cars landed in Britain at launch ( 2 years supply in 1 hit ) and reviews were indifferent. Lots of cheap Huracans out there today.

I was invited to test drive a Huracan spyder for the weekend. Looked terrific but having sat in it and tried to look through the letterbox of a windscreen I politely declined on the basis it was almost dangerous to drive and if I put the roof down my head was sticking up above the roof line. PS I'm only 5'10".
Maybe with the racing seats and coupe roofline you will sit lower in cabin and at least be able to see where you are going. Hopefully the bigger engineering team have adjusted the rake of the windscreen to make it useable and not just pretty

Anyway McLaren 720S is supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread and set new benchmarks as well, at the same price point.

Roll on Geneva, a lot of exciting supercars coming our way.

I think he is trying to complete with RamboLambo's McLaren threads on that front, although so far ihe's not in he same ballpark wink

Do agree however that I am excited to see the new Huracan Performante and with the launch of the 720S it's already shaping up for a good year for supercars.

Oi Oi Dell Boy behave yourself nono

Now I like the look of the rendering's of the 720s so if it does look like that then that's a good start and I wouldn't rule it out, didn't like the real time photo but could have been the angle?

Yes Lambo is 235-240k Apparently? but that will be an almost finished price as the Perfas and Super Leggs have always come pretty much specked as standard, full off carbon from the off. I reckon you will be throwing a good 30k plus at the Macca to get a decent spec??? so I doubt the 720 will end up anywhere near the price of the Perfa on the road?

Looking at Huracan prices I don't get where you see they have plummeted compared to Macca? In fact they look to be holding much better than 650s?

Examples

SPYDER

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m...

650s Spyder 2016 4k miles £177.950 must have been £240k Loss £62k judge

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l...

Huracan Spyder 2016 4k miles £219.000 must have been £240k Loss £20k

5/6 Hurcan Spyders for sale 30 plus 650 Spyders for sale ???

COUPE

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m...

650 Coupe 2016 1k miles £179.850 must have been £250k Loss £70k judge

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l...

Huracan Coupe 2016 3k miles £189.995 must have been £220kLoss £30k

The above appears to demonstrate that Maccas have plummeted and Lambos not so much???

judge MaccaLambo rules that the depreciation war has been won in favor of the defendant,Lamborghini laughlaughlaugh

Now I have no brand allegiance at all to brand, I just buy what I like the look of at the time, a car to stir the emotions, doesn't have to be the fastest or most tech savvy to tick my boxes.

However it appears to me right now that the Lambo Perfa is ticking all the boxes in a modern technological way but with Old School naturally aspirated emotion,I think everyone would agree that's got to be a hard act to follow? For me that's the hook of the Lambo Huracan Performante right now biggrin

Im sure if Lambo wanted to bolt on a couple of Turbos right now they could extract a Gazillion Horsepower yikesyikesyikes

To close I am 6 and a little bit foot tall and fit no problem into my current Perormante and the Huracan,However my head does stick out of the Juno cockpit a little laugh

I know nothing about the Performante, is it a limited edition car so instantly unobtainable for the majority. Is it being released at Geneva?

It is not strictly limited to a number but more buy how many get ordered within a time frame so should in effect be available to anyone who wants one. I think the wait will be based on what dealer you have ordered from and their allocation versus order book etc

Private viewings are taking place now and I am going tomorrow,

Yes official launch Geneva

That picture is exactly what I looked like in the Huracan Spyder without the helmet at my towering 5'10" so all I can say is if you are 6' something 4' must be your legs and 2' your upper body. Best you stay in the car 24/7 as you will look weird when you get out

I've had nothing to do with a Huracan but EVO reported how cramped the cockpit was on the spider due to the roof mechanism behind the seats.

Looking forward to your thoughts as far as the non disclosure will allow you. Heading to Geneva in March but would be great to get some early impressions. I remember how excited I was to see the Huracan preview down in a tatty warehouse in London. Enjoy.
