Scirocco EML & EPC now car wont fire-up.

Driving home today my engine management light came on then promptly turned off then the EPC light came on and stayed on car ran very roughly seemed a cylinder wasn't firing, once home there is quite a strong smell of fuel. after leaving it for an hour went to restart and the car will turn but won't fire-up, any idea's? It's a 2.0 TSI DSG 0n a 59 plate, full history with no mods at all. Had the major service last May.

Get it scanned.

I'd say it's got a fault.

Just an update, my local mechanic plugged his PC into the car and found a fault on #3 cylinder, turned out to be a faulty spark plug !

And that caused the car to not start at all ?

When engine was hot, next day it started, apologies for not updating.
