I'm looking to change the exhaust on my Boxster S 987.1. and wondered if any of you guys had any suggestions/experience of a decent system, not too loud. I've come across this system from Phoenix Exhausts.

Interesting name, very close to Phoenix Exhaust who are based in Cullompton Devon and majority owned by Cargraphic in Germany.

Not come across these guys before. Wonder where the systems are being made? The contact address on their website is 71-75 Shelton Street, right next to Covent Garden. Seems like an odd location for an exhaust manufacturer? Perhaps just an importer/distribution outfit?

Looking at the legal terms on their website, they state: "These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of 71-75 Shelton Street..."

The laws of Shelton Street, eh? Not familiar with that jurisdiction myself. I think you've made the right choice in looking elsewhere.

I found a similar system here. Slightly more expensive but they do have a workshop and not too far from me.

Gert Carnewal in your man:

Can go to Belgium to have it fitted, or he posts you the exhaust, you have it fitted, then send yours back to him in exchange

Looks like a gen 2 car but I guess someone's changed the rear lights or something

That's a Topgear exhaust I believe.

I've just fitted the Topgear Valvetronic system on my Cayman S. Videos on YouTube, search DJ Porsche. Sounds absolutely fantastic.

In quiet mode it's very similar to the Carnewal system only fractionally louder. Whilst in loud mode it's like a mini GT3. The exhaust pops and bangs yet still retains that familiar Porsche sound. Very antisocial yet massively addictive.

To add, I believe the Phoenix/Topgear/DesignTek systems are all the same. Manufactured in Asia apparently. Very well made too.

100% agree with this suggestion, excellent exhausts and service from Gert - I had one on my 987S, it was suitably fruity when the mood took me but for "normal" driving such as on Mways it was no noiser than standard so no drones or otjer annoyances

+1
I visited Gert to have one fitted to my 987.1 3.2. Recently sold that car, but am on the lookout for a nice 987.2 and would definitely go that route again, for the above mentioned reasons.
