Hopefully someone can shed some more light on this. Spent the afternoon fitting a boost gauge, amp wiring kit and sleepy eye kit. To make this easier I took out the instrument pod entirely as I also had to change a bulb. All the other bits are fine, only problem is now the instrument pod isn't working. With ignition on the backlight for the clock and the fuel gauge light come on (not the actual clock itself) but once I turn the lights on they vanish and only the diff oil light comes on (wasn't on before.)

The only lights that work on the panel are the indicators - all lights, speedo, fuel gauge and rev counter are dead. The actual lights and indicators on the care are all working fine. To make sure it wasn't either the sleepy eye kit or the boost gauge I removed them in turn but no change, so they aren't the problem. If I remove the kit, the dash lights (but not the warning bulbs) come on but as soon as you start the engine they go out. The fuel gauge has also fallen vertically and is now sitting by the main beam light. When I took the cluster out to check it I found a broken wire going to the clock, repaired this but made no difference. I did however notice a scratch on the circuit board.

I'm guessing the circuit board or the wiring looms were damaged somehow when I took them out. I've checked the fusebox and they're fine. I'm really stuck on this, although I can use my sat nav and boost gauge as a speedo and rev counter, I have no fuel gauge or odometer! Might need to ring an auto electrician as I need to sort this urgently! Cheers

You need to start by making and breaking the connector for the pod a few times as it is likely they may be slightly corroded and not making contact. A bit of exercise may clean them up.

Is the board a proper circuit board a a flexi mylar one? The flexi boards often make their connections just by trapping the flexi in the connection so the same corrosion issues could be present there and poking about has disturbed something. Again check and move these connections to clean them up.

Its a blue printed circuit board if that helps. I'll get it all out the next few days and have a play
