tt engine in clio

hi, i have a phase 2 172 clio just managed to get hold of a bam s3 lump, gonna mate it up with a cupra r 6 speed 2wd box. bit nervouse about getting started ripping my old lump out, dont want it off the road too long. anyone know of any bib problems im gonna come across? i'd be very grateful

this is probs nt much help but there was an article in practical performance car a while back where a guy fitted a tt engine in to a mk1 clio, ill c if in can fish it out.

I have a mk3 polo with a 1,8 20v t motor in it. Mine is a bit novel as it is mid engined!

I did not build it but I will try to help if I can

Did you get it remapped upto 1.8bar in the end??

The engine has just been finished and I am in the process of deciding wether to get a new turbo or not.

Will know more by the end of the week.

i can have a word with a guy i work with. he used to tlak tothe bloke that did the Clio 1.8T conversion.

bit off tpoic but have you seen the turbo options for the 172's?? look wuite good.

have looked into the turbo options for the 172, but your talking six grand plus for around 250 brake...remaped bam engine with ko4 turbo makes more sense to me. the car aint even worth 6 k!

thats what he is saying!

the cost for a conversion, which could over much more than 260bhp (more like 300+ on stock internals), should cost less than 6K. i have that copy of PPC and will tyr and find it and scan it for you mate.
