Anyone know how the gearchange indent plate in a T5 is held to the casting and how to remove it? Its the plate that sits directly below the gearchange level on the tail of the box.

Also anyone know a good place to buy a freshen up seal kit for the T5?

Do a search on Ebay for T5 gearbox, there was a guy doing rebuild kits for this box for £200(am not saying spend £200 to get the neccesary seals) he may be able to help with those seals or just use one of the transmissions specialists that others have used on here, sure answers will follow shortlywinkgood luckthumbupjust noticed your in Kent, try Helical gearboxes 0208 691 5953 paul or paul they are mustard.

Its pressed into place, there's a boss on the bottom of it which matches a hole in the casting, you can prise it out if you remove the blanking plug on the back of the housing first

Yep, thanks, that is the pdf I'm currently using. However if you look at section 3.9d it simply says don't to removing the detent plate. Not really helpful on that one point.
