I've just bought an Audi A4 cabrio 1.8T and I'm looking to get the ecu remapped but was wondering if all the remapping companies are the same or whether there is one that stands out from the rest. I looked at Superchips and they charge £500 whereas other companies such as Amd technik charge around £340, is it worth the extra £160? Can anyone help?

There are a lot of companies that can do this, and they are definitely not all selling the same thing. Personally, im not keen on the likes of SuperChips. As for that money (and often less), you can get a bespoke map made by a VAG specialist for your car. Often with a rolling road print out so you can see what your engine has gained. Ideally, the print out will show the "before" figure too.
I have experience with JabbaSport. And I would certainly recommend them and use them again. www.jabbasport.com With their custom map option (not expensive for what you get) you'll get the above mentioned print outs. Or there is a cheaper generic remap option too. Very nearly as good as the custom maps, but you likely wont get any dyno plot print outs to show whats been gained.
Worth checking them out, if they are not too far from you.
