Alternator supression problem
Discussion
Dear All,
I wonder if someone out there is able to help me with a supression problem on my 1986 Countach (so we are talking old school technology here!!).
The problem: When I plug my sat nav, mp3 player or bluetooth into the cigar lighter for power, I can hear an alternator whine through that product.
If I disconnect the alternator the problem is NO longer there.
I have fitted a supressor to the alternator, and the problem remains the same.
I have also (for test purposes) wired the cigar lighter direct to the battery bypassing all of the vehicle wiring - and I still get the alternator whine!!!
When I use my sat nav, mp3 and bluetooth in other vehicles - they are all ok (no whine).
So.....
My question is has anyone else had supression problems? if so how did you cure it?
Or, can anyone reccomend some sort of magical suspression/choke device?
As always - thanks in advance for ANY help or advice offered.
Regards
Ian
