Hi, I've got a 2000 Vectra SRI and the power steering fluid keeps leaking and as off recent there's a funny noise when I accelerate but it only last for a few minutes. Is this likely to be relating to the fluid leaking? Any idea's on what I should do?

Is the noise a creaking or groaning type of noise, and does it do the same noise if you're stationary and just turn the wheel from side to side?

Its like a tapping noise which speeds up when you accelerate. I do get the groaning noise but only when the fluid is getting low or near empty but that soon goes when I put more fluid in.

I dont think it really needs to be spelled to you, but if you fix the leak have you ever thought the moise might stop

Cavitation in the pump? Does the noise go away when you top the fluid level up?
