Hi,

I'm going to change the rear brake shoes on the wifes AX and according to the haynes manual I will need a hub puller to get the drum off. My problem is that none of the hub pullers I've seen are suitable for a three wheel bolt configuration. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks,

Ralph.

Slide hammer like this

Or

Hub puller like these

The slide hammer is more expensive but is a more versatile tool for other jobs.

You shouldn't need a hub puller. Tap gently on the drum with a mallet, and with even pressure draw the drum off the axle.

Thanks for the advice. I had seen the hub pullers in Machine Mart but neither of these stated that they were for use on 3 bolt configurations so I was n't sure if they would fit.
