Hi Chaps,
im gonna get around to fitting a swirl pot to my hillclimber soon and have most of the bits. my question is re the type of pump needed for the lift pump between tank outlet and swirl pot. i normally see a 'carb' style pump (facet etc), relatively low pressure rather than an EFI pump, although i have read of some people using the same as EFI pump type as for the feed pump from the swirl pot to fuel rail.
your thoughts and suggestions please biggrin

Fuel pressure is not important in the lift pump provided it has sufficient flow to cope with the BHP being produced.
If you already have a pump producing enough flow for the engine then just use that rather than go looking for something different.

i spare EFI pumps but no carb type jobbies. no issues in using a spare efi pump then?

If the primary pump is already an efi, and is working....it would seem silly to swap it for something else.

No you are only interested in having enough fuel in the pot as any excess will return to the tank. You will need to make sure the return pipe is as large as the flow. If you don't then you could end up with the pressure in the swirl being higher than the efi pressure regulator thereby preventing the regulator from returning excess fuel rail pressure to the swirl.
