Strange problem!

the only way of getting round this (apparently) is by Taking the ECu out and re-soldering it.

Cams have been timed up and were Running fine until the problem. It seems to be running fine now the Lambda has been cleaned.

A block on firmware is NOT fixed by resoldering anything to do with the ECU! What ECU is it? If you're really intent on doing more with the car have you considered an aftermarket unit if you aren't already running one..

I have got in contact with GMC motorsport and Teamed up with my Sensodrive unit it would cost me Lots to take that into account also!
