whilst in an ideal world a lsd would be perfect - can anyone shed light on hown much power is sent to the 'free' wheel with electronic brake lock on the spinning wheel on certain traction control?

am i right in thinking if you stop the spinning wheel all the power is sent to the other wheel?

Correct.

If the one wheel is stopped, the only place for the drive to go, is the other wheel.

The XJ8 Jag had/has this setup, it was st. But like you say better than nothing. Problem is when both are slipping like in snow.. It wasnt much use.

thought that was the case.

my old 911 had both an lsd and brake lock! very confusing...

the real reason behind the question was based around the alfa q2 diff - its a ATB in the 147's but the new 08 plate 159's state electronic Q2..... basically a rubbish brake lock by the sounds of it - better than nothing but i think i'll be going 4wd - looking at a remapped 2.4JTDM good for 400lb/ft - a tad too much for fwd lsd or not i think!

generally speaking, it's "configurable". By that, I mean that the manufacturer will set it up according to his choice.
