HOW CAN I SLOW DOWN THE IDLE ON ROVER V8 EFI 3.9

If it's a hotwire EFI then the idle speed is controlled by the ECU via a stepper motor on the offside rear of the plenum. There's also a base idle adjuster on the side the the throttle body, which is just set to keep the idle speed within the range of control of the stepper motor. Also check the throttle is closing completely and no air leaks.

I WILL HAVE A LOOK AT THAT THE IDLE IS 1100 RPM THE CAR IS NEW FROM WESTFIELD
SO WE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY AIR LEAKS
THE BASE IDLE SCREW IS FLUSH IN CASTING AND THE AIR BLEED IS SCREWED FULLY IN

If its a flapper, one screw for idle next to the throttle plate. On the top, requires flat head screwdriver, and is a fairly fine adjustment per revolution.

Also, is there a little slack at the start of the throttle movement? If not, it might just be the throttle isn't returning fully.

According to the book, you should be able to fit a 0.05mm feeler gauge between the throttle butterfly and the bottom of the intake.
