engine revout

i just bought a 98 twin turbo supra but when i got it home and left it for a bit i went out started the car and the engne just reved straight up to the rev limet 7.5 revs and stayed there so i turned it off trid again and the same thing keeps happening does anyone have any idea what thios could be

The only way it can rev that high is if there is an air leak. Check the throttle isn't stuck slightly open & throttle body loose / inlet manifold loose. Also check any hoses fitted to the manifold (idle valve etc). Also check the boost hoses for any possible leaks.

this morning when i went to start the car it began pumping out white fumes from the exaust what could this be

condensation. or head gasket problem.


Did you find the air leak ? is it revving normal ?

How about checking the throttle cable - is it snagged or stuck ?
