is it worth changing the injectors and throttlebody on a 2.0L focus?

im thinking of doing a few minor mods to it and dont want to spend loads.

i've heard that if you put a mustangs throttle body onto the focus it will work an up power a bit and help with throttle response.

will, with changing the throttle body and getting the injectors from an ST220 help with power?

Probably not.

Fitting larger injectors without re-tuning will probably cause massive over-fuelling and a drop in bot performance, and fuel economy.

Fitting a larger TB may help, if the standard one is a proven restriction.

that is what i was thinking, wasnt sure.

if i were to get the injectors and then get a ecu out of the st would that stop the overfuelling do you think?

or a remap

perhaps.

But why on earth do you believe you need larger injectors at all ??

The ST220 is a V6 Mondeo, unless you have a V6 Focus the ECU is not going to be compatible!

Tuning an engine is all about getting more air into the cylinders, getting enough fuel in is trivial. Unless you have heavily modified the engine, the stock injectors will not be near their flow limits.

firstly changing the injectors is a waste of time without a complete remap and the EEClV ecu is awkward to uprate the best option would be to go for dreamscience or bluefinn with an induction kit initially. Using an ST ECU will do nothing as the Focus ST runs a V5 and thus is inconpatible with your loom and engine so best place to start is with a air filter and a reprogramme of the ECU. Leave the injectors alone as they are good enough for at least a 40% upgrade as they are flowing rich anyway as the unburned fuel assists with cooling the cat

First the ST is an inline 5
second the engine runs stoichiometric or as close as for the converter to work in normal conditions(barring the converter cycling or rich for max power)
third you won't gain bugger all on a naturally aspirated engine with just a chip.

The only Ford to carry an ST220 badge is a V6 Mondeo AFAIK?
