Onboard computer reset?

Just had engine oil and filter change on our Skoda 1.9TDI using one of the drivein and wait outfits. Done the job OK but could'nt reset the 'oil service' due reminder on the dash. they said we need to go to main agent to have this done? Any advise on how I might be able to DIY this as I dont want an 40 mile round trip for such a piffling job. Thanks

very likely to be a sequence of buttons to press. Failing that do a search for someone with vagcom.

you could try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins
But I think that this is only a slim hope

Found this..

- hold trip reset button in
- turn igntion on still holding button
- let button go twist to right
- press button again till oil appears
- twist right again
- turn igniton off
- job done
