Oil change interval and filters.
Discussion
The 306 (1,8l ex petrol engine) is a 5k mile change period.
- Wehn i bought it it had blatantly done more than this, so i did a flush, oem filter and oil.
- Ive now done another 5k and wondering about changing the oil and filter again, maybe.
Pug changed the interval on the engine a while later i believe, and certianly 5k isnt long (5months) And i know if most people owned it it would be on an anaual change like everything else.
Crux of the matter is its a absolute ruddy arse to change the filter, and its cold outside.
How likely is it that if i just change the oil and next do the filter in another 5k it will do really any harm at all?

I realise changing oil & filters is a pain, but since coming to Americas I have realised that changing oil & filter every 5000 miles does wonders for engine longevity.
So despite whatever you read to the contrary try to replace oil & filter every 5000 miles. You don't need the most expensive oil by any means if budget is an issue.
