This will be a bit short as Im heading out, but thanks to Craig at Dynotorque for the quick turn around and fitting the tr6060 in place of my t56.

Shifts are definitely smoother and cleaner and first and reverse are now as easily selectable as any other gear.
So on that basis its all good.

Im off to Scotland later in the month for a weeks travel and holiday so will test it out properly then.

Anyone wanting a 35K Mile T56 let me know smile

What was the total cost of the install, if you don't mind me asking?

give the clan a shout when you're heading up this way. If you have some free time we'll organise a run for you. Where you going to be based when you're up here?

Which box did you actually go for ? There seems to be quite a few 6060's ?

I see Tick and RPM in the US are offering fully rebuilt/uprated 6060's to whatever spec you want and gearset as a fully like for like swap with the T56 for $5k.

Less than £1500.

Im not 100% sure yet its worth it if the current t56 is working fine (which mine was) or as fine as they go.
But definitely for a break/fix replacement you would be silly to do anything else IMO.

OEM is TUET7000, replacement is TUET10310

I think the tuet runs these

1st: 3.01
2nd: 2.07
3rd: 1.43
4th: 1.00
5th: 0.84
6th: 0.57
R: 3.28

Whereas the old one might be

1st: 2.66:1
2nd: 1.78:1
3rd: 1.30:1
4th: 1.00:1
5th: 0.74:1
6th: 0.50:1
Rev: 2.90:1

did you use the standard bell housing or one of the vented ones?

They are super smooth gearboxes

Your old one is the same as the new one.

Same ratio´s?

I never did find the tuet7000 ratio´s so could well the same as you say.

New one is definately a tr6060 though.

Yes.

Tick Performance and RPM Transmissions both offer direct replacement 6060's for your T56.

TR6060 might well be smooth, but not bullet proof in the hands of an idiot with a bit more
torque than standard. What are current thoughts on replacing these boxes (TR6060 TUET8381) with the Tremec Magnum ?

VXR8LS3 rear wheel tyre275/35R19" tyre height 26.58"
___TR6060___________Magnum_________Magnum
___TUET8381__mph___TUET11012__mph___TUET11009mph
1st_3.01______46______2.97____47______2.66___52
2nd_2.07______67______2.10____66______1.78___78
3rd_1.43______97______1.46____95______1.30___107
4th_1.00______139_____1.00____139_____1.00___139
5th_0.84______165_____0.74____188_____0.80___174
6th_0.56______248_____0.50____278_____0.63___221

Big assumption that the box really is "swap out" which I doubt with some work.
Any thought on which ratio and why ? swaying towards 11009, slightly taller
ratios 1/2/3 and more useable 5/6....
http://www.tremec.com/menu.php?m=104

There is a TR6060 MG9 available which is rated to 551ft/lb, that looks direct fit!
Same ratio as TUET11009

Interesting pdf pulled from Tremec's website:-

http://www.tremec.com/anexos/TREMEC_TR-6060.pdf

Note how the torque rating changes with the different gear sets...

Gear set C same as the MG9 and Magnum...and same toque capacity as the MG9
